Amanda comes to us from London, Ontario. She is a Registered Kinesiologist in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a Movement Science major at the University of Windsor.
Since completing her bachelor degree she has remained dedicated to continuing education with the quest to provide evidence-based and contemporary service to her clients. Some of this education has included training with the American College of Sports Medicine as an Clinical Exercise Specialist and Health and Wellness Coach, training in Motivational Interviewing and behaviour change counselling, and Diabetes Educator training with the Michener Institute.
She brings with her 15+ years of experience in chronic disease management within an ambulatory care hospital setting gaining valuable expertise in exercise prescription and training for individuals with heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes. She believes strongly that exercise is medicine for your body and as such, it is an important cornerstone to recovery after injury, to manage chronic health conditions, and to improve overall health and wellness. She is skilled in interdisciplinary team-based care and strives to offer the very best to her clients.
Since arriving on the scene at Hydrathletics, Amanda has taken great interest in the aquatic therapy approach. She has completed coursework in Foundations of Aquatic Therapy and is currently working on becoming an Aquatic Stretch facilitator. She hopes to make your experience in the therapy pools effective and fun!
Outside of work, Amanda is kept busy with family life and travel.
